Hike Manitoba: Little Explorers Edition

Time spent on the trails and in campgrounds are the best memories I have from childhood. Back then, my folks were pretty cool people who loved the outdoors and taught us kids to love the wilderness, too.

The biggest ask we had over the past year was for child-friendly hiking trails. The overwhelming amount of folks who were looking for child-friendly trails inspired us to create a guide for caregivers/parents of Little Explorers!

Tucked between the covers of the Little Explorers edition are 25ish trails that have been hand-picked as suitable for new and little hikers. Highlights include accessible trails, trails with added features (beaches, playgrounds) and trails that are either shorter in length or less challenging… ranging up to the tough ones… including Black Lake! This 9km trail is tough but it’s flanked by a campground and swim area and makes for a perfect day on the trail. Pack a picnic and end the day with a swim!

You’ll also find tips on how to make hiking fun, enjoyable, and safe for little ones.

And all the photos in the book are submitted by caregivers/parents of Little Explorers on the trails!
